WE ARE COMMITED TO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE

A few months ago we came across this amazing project. We were astonished and we immediately got in touch with the people in charge to see if we can also participate.

We are happy to announce that MOTEL, in collaboration with WWF, is adopting Rakopotamos beach. The “Adopt a Beach” program aims to collect quantitative and qualitative data on coastal and plastic pollution with the ultimate purpose to eliminate it. It sounds scary, but if we don’t act now by 2050 there will be more plastic in the sea than fish. Every year 8,000,000 tons of plastic end up in the oceans. 11,500 tons of plastics end up in Greek sea alone every year.

Rakopotamos beach is 55 kilometers from Larissa. It is a beautiful and calm beach, quite popular among free campers but also with those looking for something different. It is one of the most beautiful beaches in the area, and perhaps the last one free from sunbeds and noise pollution. Our team will clean Rakopotamos beach 4 times a year and will submit any findings to WWF for further processing.
